I am a Journalism student at a University in London.

After recently researching my dissertation topic about women’s body image and the affects of glamour images I became interested in the idea of female stereotypes, so for my Final Journalism project decided to do an investigation into the different types of women in modern society.

I decided to focus on three different stereotypes:

The Glamour Girl

The Lady

The Independent Woman

I will live the lifestyle of each of these types of woman for a week at a time and then write about my experiences each day.

I want to see if these stereotypes are simply ideals that are impossible to live up to and hold women back, or if they are actually liveable in the modern world and see what reactions they receive and how they affect daily living.

In a world where our surroundings so easily influence our lifestyles, it will be interesting to see if a person can live up to one ideal image.
